 We have just received this letter (dated April, 2019) from Agnes thanking us for providing her with the Singer sewing machine which she will use to earn money to support her two youger siblings who are currently enroled in TVS.  PDF

Our Staff


Minister: Reverend Barbara Fullerton

East Plains UC is pleased to extend a very warm welcome to Rev. Barbara Fullerton who took on the role of part time intentional interim minister starting September 9, 2018. At East Plains, Barb will focus on leading the Sunday service and attending to those in need of Pastoral care. Barb has roots in the USA (Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio) and has two married daughters one of whom lives in Texas, and the other who lives in Seattle, Washington. Barb became a Canadian citizen in 1991, and presently lives in Paris, Ontario, with her Canadian husband who is a retired minister with the UCC. Rev. Barb was most recently minister at St. Paul’s UC in Paris. Prior to that, she worked twelve years in the General Council Office as The United Church of Canada’s national stewardship development officer. In addition to her post at East Plains, Barb is the secretary of the Board at Five Oaks Education and Retreat Centre in Paris. Welcome aboard Barb.

Sam Vacca, Music Director, East Plains United Church, Burlington  

Music Director: Sabatino (Sam) Vacca

Sabatino (Sam) is the Music Director of the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, and Chorus Master for Opera Hamilton. He has conducted orchestras in the Czech Republic, Symphony Hamilton, the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony, the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra, the Brampton Symphony Orchestra, and the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra. For Opera York he has served as Artistic Director for productions of Carmen, Suor Angelica/Gianni Schicchi, La Traviata, The Barber of Seville, Tosca, Rigoletto, La Bohème, and Madama Butterfly, and as Conductor for Le Nozze di Figaro and Così Fan Tutte. Next season he will serve as Artistic Director their production of Il Trovatore. For Opera Belcanto he has conducted Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, and Tosca. For Opera Kitchener he has conducted Madama Butterfly, and La Bohème. Sabatino has worked as an opera coach for the University of Toronto, as well as the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Sabatino is the recipient of the Spirit of Ontario Award for the Arts by the National Congress of Italian Canadians.
