EPUC has an outreach program for needy people in the area, which is entitled AGAPE, meaning "Unconditional Love"
This outreach program is held on the first Thursday of each month, January through June and September through December, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., in the church Gathering Place.
Leaders, Morgan Perigo, Grace Boogers and Paul Durnan, are there to welcome the fifteen plus individuals, when they arrive. We provide juice, coffee and goodies for them to enjoy as they gather in a circle and socialize.
Each month we have a discussion around a chosen theme related to the season of the year or current affairs. We celebrate birthdays. Each individual is given an opportunity to participate as they desire.
We often have donated clothing, hygiene and food items to distribute. As a parting gift, each individual receives a $20.00 President’s Choice gift card and for those who rely on Burlington Transit, several $2.00 ride vouchers.
Most months, many of the same people attend. They are very please that we are there to listen to their personal story and provide them with a small token of our love.
The monthly cost of this program is $350.00. We rely on donation from our church members to fund this program.
